Karim Brohi

Professor Karim Brohi is a leading academic in Trauma Sciences, serving as Head of the London Trauma Injury Epidemiology and Research (LondonTIER) group and Professor of Trauma Sciences at Queen Mary University of London. He is also a Consultant Trauma & Vascular Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust and Director of the North East London & Essex Trauma Network. His work bridges clinical practice, education, and research, with a focus on improving trauma care outcomes globally.

Brohi founded TRAUMA.ORG in 1995, the world’s largest specialty medical website for trauma education and consultation. He pioneered the Activation of Coagulation and Inflammation in Trauma (ACIT) study, investigating coagulopathy mechanisms post-injury. His research spans trauma-induced coagulopathy, massive transfusion strategies, systems biology, and health services optimization.
