Kari Lancaster is a Professor in Social Studies of Science and Health within the Department of Social and Policy Sciences at the University of Bath. She is also an Editor of Science, Technology & Human Values and holds an Honorary Burnet Institute Senior Principal Fellow position at the Burnet Institute. Her work bridges Science and Technology Studies (STS), health sociology, and policy studies to examine evidence-making practices and intervention translations in health.
Research Interests: She specializes in
- Theory-informed and theory-innovating empirical social science research
- Critical analysis of drugs and addiction and infectious diseases (hepatitis C, HIV, and COVID-19)
- Interdisciplinarity through collaboration between critical social scientists and policy/practice implementers
- Global health policy under transformative changes, focusing on outbreak response and viral elimination

Education: Holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of New South Wales.
