Dr. Karen Whitfield is an Honorary Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Queensland, and Program Lead for the Master of Clinical Pharmacy. She holds key roles in research, education, and clinical practice, with expertise in women's health, neonatal pharmacology, and therapeutic drug monitoring.

Her research spans Women's Health, Neonatal Pharmacotherapy, and Resilience Development in healthcare professionals. Current projects examine trace elements in neonates, medication behavior during pregnancy, and resilience interventions.
Recent publications address diabetes surgery outcomes, therapeutic drug monitoring, and neonatal circulatory support. Her work informs clinical practices through grants and collaborations with Metro North Health Service and international conferences.
