Karen Weise is a Clinical Professor and Child and Adolescent Track Coordinator in the Professional Psychology Program at George Washington University's Columbian College of Arts & Sciences. She maintains a clinical practice in NW Washington, DC, specializing in assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. Her clinical interests include autism spectrum disorders, gender variance, adoption, and parent consultation. She has taught courses such as Theories of Mind, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, and Psychotherapy Practicum.
Dr. Weise holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from City College, CUNY (2000), post-graduate qualifications in child and adolescent psychoanalysis from the Anna Freud Centre (London), and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University (London). She is affiliated with professional organizations including the DC Psychological Association, American Psychological Association (Divisions 39 and 7), and the Association of Child Psychoanalysis.
Previously, she served at the American School of Professional Psychology (DC) for 14 years and held roles at Children’s National Medical Center and the Reginald S. Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children. She is a teaching analyst and member of the child faculty at the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis.
