Karen Rosier is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Namur since 2002, and has been the Data Protection Officer at UNamur since 2018. As co-director of the Freedoms and Information Society Unit at the Center for Research on Information, Law and Society (CRIDS), she specializes in privacy law, data protection, and electronic communications.

Her research focuses on the intersection of data privacy, ICT law, and employment relations, particularly analyzing tensions between workplace surveillance and fundamental rights. She has published extensively on topics including GPS tracking legality, whistleblower protections, and public sector data management.
Externally, she is a practicing attorney at the Walloon Brabant Bar through the Versius Law Association, and serves as co-director of the Journal of Technology and IT Law (RDTI). She previously served on the Ethics Commission for Telecommunications (2012-2016).
