Elise Degrave is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Namur, teaching Sources and Principles of Law in bachelor’s and Internet Governance and E-Government in the Master’s in Information and Communication Technology Law (DTIC). She co-directs the E-Government Chair and leads the E-Government unit at the Information, Law and Society Research Center (CRIDS), focusing on legal and technical expertise for the public sector.
- External Roles: Walloon Digital Council member, Commission for Access to Administrative Documents active member, Editorial Director of RDTI, and Institute for Justice Studies member.
- Education: Law degree from UCL (2004, Highest distinction), Certificate of Aptitude for Legal Profession (CAPA) (2005), and Doctor of Legal Sciences (2013, University of Namur).
Research Interests center on e-government, digital privacy, public freedoms, and human rights. Her work bridges legal frameworks with technological advancements, emphasizing constitutional protections and ethical AI.
- Key Projects: Legislating in the era of AI, digital social assistance legality, and European health data spaces.
