Karen Rodgers is an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University within the School of Allied Health and Social Care (Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care) in Cambridge. She serves as Module Tutor for Assessed Readiness for Assessed Practice (ARDP) and teaches BA/MA social work students across Cambridge and Peterborough campuses while organizing placement preparation workshops for students and practice educators.
Her academic qualifications include:
- BSc in Social Work (registered with Social Work England)
- PG Dip in Social Work with Adults
- Practice Educator PEPS 2 certification
- Professional coaching training
Rodgers' research centers on access and use of facilitative procedures in social work practice, with clinical expertise spanning HIV/AIDS support systems and older adults' mental health services. Her career includes developing training frameworks for the Mental Capacity Act 2005 implementation and designing adult safeguarding protocols for local authorities.
Prior to ARU, she coordinated social work placements and mentored newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment. Her international experience includes volunteer social work at a HIV/AIDS and cancer hospice in Kampala, Uganda.
