Karen Mihelich

Karen Mihelich is Assistant Professor and DNP Program Coordinator at University of Detroit Mercy's McAuley School of Nursing. She serves as Graduate Nursing Chair and teaches courses in population health and DNP project development.

Her research focuses on chronic disease self-management strategies and behavioral interventions to improve patient outcomes. Specific interests include lifestyle modification frameworks, motivational techniques for treatment adherence, and evidence-based nursing practices for long-term condition management.

With clinical background as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist, Professor Mihelich integrates practical healthcare experience with academic research on patient education and health behavior change.
