Karen Martha Aoki is an Assistant Professor of Maharishi Vedic Science and Sanskrit at Maharishi International University (MIU), and serves as Director of Student Programs within the Department of Development of Consciousness. She holds a PhD in Maharishi Vedic Science from MIU (2016), a Master's in the same field, a Bachelor's in Flute Performance from the Eastman School of Music (2005), and extensive training in classical flute under mentors like Lorant Kovacs and Binay Krishna Baral.
Her musical career includes studies at Interlochen Arts Academy, masterclasses in Oxford and Austria, and private lessons at Tanglewood Institute. She taught piano at Woodstock School in Northern India, combining her expertise in music and Vedic Science. Her research interests span Vedic Science, Sanskrit linguistics, and the integration of meditation practices in education. She has performed in music festivals globally and maintains a strong connection to both Western classical and Indian classical music traditions.
