معرفی
Karen Lyons, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with affiliations to the Brain Research Institute, CTSI Cell & Developmental Biology GPB Home Area, JCCC Cancer and Stem Cell Biology Program Area, and Molecular, Cellular & Integrative Physiology GPB Home Area. Her research focuses on growth factor signaling in mammalian development and disease, particularly the roles of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) family and Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) subgroup in cell cycle control, gene expression, and cell-cell interactions.
- Education: Ph.D. (unspecified field)
- Research Interests:
- Investigating TGF-β and BMP signaling in developmental contexts
- Using mouse models and genetic tools (transgenic, gene targeting)
- Organ/cell culture systems for receptor signaling mechanisms
Recent Publications highlight her work on CCN2/CTGF in cartilage and angiogenesis, BMP-Smad signaling in bone formation, and CCN2's role in cancer. Her studies span Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, and Molecular Genetics, with applications in Physiology and Cancer Research.
