Dr. Karen Kletter is a Professor of History at Methodist University in the College of Arts, Humanities & Sciences. She is affiliated with the Department of History in the Humanities Division and can be reached at kkletter@methodist.edu.

Research Interests: Dr. Kletter specializes in medieval cultural and intellectual history, focusing on how historical narratives were constructed in earlier eras. Her work includes analyzing accounts of interreligious relations and violence during the Crusades, as well as broader explorations of ancient history, Renaissance and Reformation studies, and the history of early science. She is particularly interested in the methodologies medieval historians used to interpret and document their worlds.
Personal Interests: Beyond academia, Dr. Kletter is a dedicated musician, playing the piano and singing with the North Carolina Master Chorale in Raleigh.
