Karen H. Rothenberg, JD, MPA is a visiting professor at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and holds the title of Marjorie Cook Professor of Law emeritus at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She served as Dean of the University of Maryland School of Law from 1999-2009 and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Director on Genomics & Society at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI/NIH). Her research focuses on genetic policy and innovative uses of theatre to explore ethical, legal, and social issues in healthcare. She co-authored the seminal work The Drama of DNA: Narrative Genomics (Oxford University Press, 2014) and has held visiting roles at Columbia Law School and NIH’s Clinical Center.
