Karen Elliott, Ph.D., MS, CHES, is a Senior Lecturer and Public Health Undergraduate Internship Coordinator at Oregon State University's College of Public Health and Human Sciences. She holds a doctoral degree from the same institution (2006) and has over two decades of experience in public health education and community outreach. Her career includes roles such as Assistant Professor at Central Washington University and part-time contributing faculty at Walden University's Health Studies program.
Key research interests focus on experiential learning methods like internships, practicums, and service learning. She emphasizes connecting students' academic work to real-world public health challenges, particularly in health promotion and policy. Her professional journey spans roles in community health programs (e.g., Children’s Health Insurance Program, Women’s Opportunity Resource Development) and volunteer coordination (America Reads).
