Karen Breen-Reid

Karen Breen-Reid is a Lecturer at the University of Toronto, with a PartTime Lecturer role at the University of Ghana. She holds degrees including a BScN and MN from the University of Toronto, and a Certificate in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design from Mount Royal University, Alberta.

Her work focuses on Nursing Education, Curriculum Development, and Interprofessional Collaboration, with expertise in instructional design, leadership, mentorship, and collaborative communication. She has designed and evaluated education programs for nurses and interprofessional staff globally.

Scientific recognition includes:

• 2008 Leadership Award in Nursing Education (Staff Development) from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario
• 2021 Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Nurses

Karen is also a member of the Discipline Committee of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and her career spans roles as a staff nurse, educator, and manager in nursing education and practice.
