Karen Juckes (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Nursing in Regina, specializing in pediatric and adolescent health. She holds a BScN (1984), MN (2001) from USask, and a PhD (2021) from the University of Regina. Her roles include co-Principal Investigator for the Improving Pain in SK (IPSK) research project, Chair of the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Pain Management Professional Practice Group, and Board Member of the SaskPain Society.
Research focuses on pain management, interprofessional education using simulation, and peer support. Methodologies include qualitative and participatory approaches. She teaches courses such as NURS 330/331 (Maternal Child and Adolescent Nursing) and NURS 441 (Transitioning to Professional Practice).
Awards include the 2013 SRNA Millennium Award and CPS Interprofessional Nursing Project Award. She contributes to external committees like the Saskatchewan Health Authority's SEARCH Advisory Committee. Grants and leadership in pain management initiatives highlight her professional engagement.
