Karen Bauce is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Nursing Department at Iona College, located on the Bronxville Campus. She teaches core Master of Science in Nursing courses and specializes in the Nursing Healthcare Organizational Leadership track. Her academic background includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Executive Leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from New York University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Connecticut.
Her research focuses on nursing leadership, innovative educational technologies, and the science of compassion. Notable contributions include co-editing Nursing Research Critique: A Model for Excellence and exploring cultural competence frameworks. Dr. Bauce has presented at venues like the Global Nursing and Healthcare Conference and the Sigma Theta Tau Collaborative Research Day. She received the 2020 Connecticut Florence Nightingale Award for her professional contributions.
Dr. Bauce actively engages in educational innovation, organizing workshops on augmented/virtual reality in nursing education and contributing to dialogues on compassion science through her role at Sacred Heart University. Her work bridges clinical practice, technology integration, and ethical healthcare leadership.
