Karam Ayoub, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is a key member of the Gill Heart & Vascular Institute, where he serves in the Heart Rhythm Program, providing specialized care for patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias.
His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, bradycardia, and other rhythm disorders. He performs advanced electrophysiology procedures such as catheter ablation and the implantation and management of pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr. Ayoub completed his medical degree at Jordan University of Science and Technology, followed by internal medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Kentucky and a clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship jointly at UK and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, and is also certified by the National Board of Echocardiography.
