Kara Goss

Kara Goss, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, with a secondary appointment in Pediatrics. She leads a multidisciplinary research lab studying how premature birth impacts lifelong heart and lung health, focusing on cardiovascular phenotypes, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and developmental origins of disease.

Recent publications highlight impaired ventricular-vascular coupling, fibrosis, and exercise capacity in this population.

Dr. Goss actively contributes to professional societies including the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and Pulmonary Hypertension Association. She co-chairs the Women in Pulmonary Critical Care "Lung Ladies" Committee and participates in curriculum development and physician-scientist training initiatives.
