Kannan Krishnan is a Full Professor at the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, University of Montreal, and a researcher at the Institut de recherche en santé publique de Montréal (IRSPUM). He leads a research program focused on human health risk assessment from industrial and environmental activities, physiologically-based modeling of toxicokinetics/toxicodynamics, and mechanistic studies of contaminant mixtures. His work has been recognized through major awards and international presentations.
Education: B.Sc. in Agriculture (Annamalai University, 1983), M.Sc. in Agricultural Chemistry (McGill University, 1987), Ph.D. in Community Health (Toxicology specialization, University of Montreal, 1990).
Research projects include NSERC-funded initiatives on quantitative structure-property relationships for toxicokinetics and development of structure-toxicokinetic models. He has supervised over 20 doctoral and master’s students, contributing to advancing risk assessment methodologies. His contributions have been acknowledged through awards from the Society of Toxicology (US and Canada) and the Gabriel L. Plaa Award.
