Kangkang Tang

Dr. Kangkang Tang is a Senior Lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brunel University London's College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences. He holds Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE IStructE) and serves as Director of Teaching & Learning while leading the BEng/MEng Civil Engineering programmes. As an active accreditation reviewer for the Joint Board of Moderators, he maintains strong industry-academic connections.

His research focuses on resilient infrastructure development through two primary streams: 1) Corrosion resistance of steel fibre-reinforced concrete under railway stray currents, combining electrochemical testing with computational modelling, and 2) Healthcare facility resilience utilizing agent-based models for infection risk prediction. He leads the Resilient Infrastructures Research Group and has pioneered applications of machine learning in hospital infection control.
