Professor Kane Race is a leading scholar in Gender and Cultural Studies at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on drugs, HIV/AIDS, and queer politics, examining how scientific practices shape sexual and social practices. He holds a BA, LLB, and PhD, and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. His work spans books like The Gay Science (Routledge, 2018) and Pleasure Consuming Medicine (Duke UP, 2009), exploring intersections of drugs, sexuality, and public health.
He is affiliated with the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies and the Charles Perkins Centre. Recent projects include studies on chemsex networks and digital dating apps.
