Kanako Sturgis

Kanako Sturgis serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at San Diego State University's School of Public Health. With a MPH in Health Service Administration from SDSU, she specializes in public health program evaluation and data systems.

Her work focuses on tobacco control, oral health programs, and COVID-19 response evaluation. She has led numerous projects for San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, including community health assessments and database development.

• Developed data tools for Children, Youth and Families' health assessment
• Evaluated syringe service programs and tobacco control initiatives
• Created emergency management training systems
