Kaling Hanke

Kaling Hanke is a Lecturer for Musical Aural Training at the Robert Schumann University Düsseldorf, teaching in the Master's program in Artistic Music Production since the 2018/19 winter semester. She combines her academic role with freelance work as a sound engineer and digital editor for labels like Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, and Edition Hänssler, and has worked for WDR Cologne since 2017.

Her research and professional interests focus on high-fidelity live recording techniques, classical music postproduction workflows in Sequoia and Pyramix systems, and the pedagogy of musical aural training. She brings extensive industry experience from her conducting scholarship at Bergische Symphoniker and subsequent engagements at Lower Saxony State Opera (2012-2016).
