Kalina Jordanova, PhD, is a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), working within the Magnetic Imaging Group of the Applied Physics Division. Her current research focuses on advancing low-field (< 1 T) quantitative MRI through phantom development, AI integration, and clinical standardization.
- Education: PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University; BS in Applied & Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
Her research interests span quantitative MRI, magnetic resonance fingerprinting, and the application of artificial intelligence to enhance imaging reliability. She also investigates the use of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) as contrast agents in low-field MRI systems.
At NIST, she develops calibration phantoms to standardize low-field MRI techniques, addressing variability in clinical settings. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical applications in healthcare and technology industries.
