Dr. Kai J Kwon is a Professor of Engineering Practice in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Akron's College of Engineering and Polymer Science. He joined UA in Fall 2021, bringing expertise in Applied Mechanics, Structural Design, Materials, and Manufacturing. With prior academic roles in the U.S. and South Korea, he also has extensive industry experience in product design, optimization, and structural integrity analysis for mechanical and vehicular systems. He holds Professional Engineer (PE) and EIT certifications.
