Kael Reid (they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. They specialize in teaching Children, Childhood, and Youth Studies, emphasizing interdisciplinary and arts-based methodologies. Their research focuses on collaborative ethnographic songwriting to document marginalized voices, particularly LGBTQ+ families and youth, using music as an educational and activist tool. Kael combines academic work with public pedagogy through musical performances and workshops addressing queer/trans equity.
