Kadri Meister is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics (USBE) at Umeå University. Her work focuses on environmental health, air pollution effects, and respiratory disease studies. She is affiliated with Umeå University’s Department of Public Health and Clinical Medicine and collaborates with the Air pollution, climate and health research group.
Education: Recognised university teacher qualification. Research interests include statistical analysis of environmental health impacts, particularly asthma disparities linked to smoking habits, air quality indices, and particulate matter exposure effects. Her work integrates statistical methodologies with public health outcomes.
Key research trends in her articles include: 1) Investigating how air pollutants interact with allergens like birch pollen to exacerbate respiratory symptoms. 2) Developing air quality health indices based on respiratory health outcomes. 3) Assessing emergency hospital visits triggered by volcanic ash and ozone exposure. 4) Analyzing geographic and temporal variations in population health impacts from transportation projects and urban air pollution.
She has contributed to multi-city European studies (Aphekom project) and Icelandic time-series analyses. Her work bridges statistical rigor with real-world public health applications, often involving collaborative environmental health monitoring initiatives.
