Dr. Kadence Otto is a Professor of Sport Management at Western Carolina University, located within the College of Business. She holds a B.S. from Plymouth State University (Summa Cum Laude) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Sport Management from Florida State University. Her expertise spans ethical, social, and legal issues in sports, particularly focusing on NCAA corruption and reform. Dr. Otto teaches courses on Sport Ethics, Sport Law, and Global Sport and Culture, and has authored a textbook, Applied Ethics for Sport Managers (2019).
Her research has been published in journals such as Sport, Ethics & Philosophy and Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport. She has served as an expert consultant in high-profile cases like O’Bannon v.
