Kacey Doran is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Journalism at Rowan University's Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts, where she leads the Esports Major, Minor, and Concentration programs. Her academic work bridges game studies, gender identity, and community formation in digital environments.
She holds a PhD in Childhood Studies from Rutgers University-Camden, with a dissertation examining videogames, gender, and identity. Her interdisciplinary background includes an M.A. in Children's Literature and B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies. Prior to academia, she developed art and music education programs.
