Dr Ka Keat Lim is a Lecturer in Health Economics at Queen Mary University of London's Wolfson Institute of Population Health, affiliated with the Health Economics & Policy Research Unit (HEPRU) within the Centre for Evaluation & Methods. He holds a MPharm from the University of Strathclyde, a MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) from the London School of Economics, and a PhD from Duke-NUS Medical School. His career includes roles as a pharmacist in Malaysia, a researcher at Malaysia’s Institute for Clinical Research, and a research fellow at King’s College London.
His research focuses on improving healthcare services through economic evaluation of screening and preventive interventions, particularly in cardiovascular disease and cancer contexts. He collaborates with clinicians, policymakers, and patients to assess intervention value and guide resource allocation. Teaching responsibilities include economic evaluation modules in Masters programs and workshops, with recognition including a 2023 nomination for King's College's Teaching Award.
He actively participates in professional societies such as ISPOR (serving on the Precision Medicine SIG and conference committees) and IHEA (Early Career Researchers SIG). He also contributes to policy through roles like membership in the UK NIHR Pre-doctoral Funding Committee.
