K. Wenderich is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology (TNW), Department of Chemical Engineering, and the Photocatalytic Synthesis (PCS) group. They completed their MSc in Applied Physics at the University of Twente in 2011 and earned a PhD from the same institution in 2016, focusing on photodeposition of cocatalytic nanoparticles on photocatalytic materials. After a postdoctoral position at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, they returned to the PCS group for a subsequent postdoc before securing their current academic role in 2022. In September 2024, they successfully completed the UTQ assessment.
Expertise areas include Titanium Dioxide, Hydrogen Production, Water Oxidation Reactions, Tungsten Oxide, and Material Science. They are also associated with the MESA+ Institute, suggesting involvement in interdisciplinary research and advanced materials.
Research interests revolve around photocatalytic materials and their applications, particularly in optimizing energy conversion processes through nanotechnology. Specific topics include the deposition of platinum nanoparticles on tungsten oxide to enhance photocatalytic efficiency and explore sustainable hydrogen production methods.
No formal advisees or grants are explicitly listed, but their affiliation with the PCS group and MESA+ Institute indicates potential involvement in collaborative research projects and lab activities.
