P.J. Kelly is a Full Professor in Computational Materials Science at the University of Twente, Netherlands, since 1997. His affiliations include the Faculty of Science and Technology (TNW), Nano Electronic Materials (TNW-NEM), Computational Chemical Physics (TNW-NEM-CCP), and the MESA+ Institute.
- B.Sc. in Physics (1976) from University College Dublin
- PhD in Electronic Structure of Actinide Oxides (1980) from Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe
His research focuses on ab-initio methods for studying spin-dependent transport in complex materials and two-dimensional van der Waals structures. Expertise spans Density Functional Theory, Graphene, Metallic Systems, and Electronic Structure Calculations.
He is affiliated with the Nano Electronic Materials and Computational Chemical Physics groups under the Faculty of Science and Technology, contributing to the MESA+ Institute's research initiatives.
