K. Brandon Ironside serves as Associate Professor of Violin and String Program Director in the Department of Performance Studies, Division of Music, at Bob Jones University's School of Fine Arts and Communication. An accomplished violinist, he maintains an active performance career as a soloist and chamber musician while dedicating himself to music education.
His educational background includes:
- Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro
- Master of Music in Performance from Arizona State University, where he received the Special Talent Award
- Bachelor of Music in Performance Violin from McGill University
Ironside's professional interests center on violin performance, chamber music collaboration, and contemporary music, with numerous premieres of works by composers like Michael Bryson and Seth Custer. He also has a strong commitment to music education, particularly through the Suzuki method and specialized instruction for children with autism and other special needs.
His recognition includes:

As an educator, Ironside has served as Doctoral Teaching Assistant at UNC Greensboro and developed the Suzuki violin program at Biltmore Preparatory Academy. He has extensive experience coaching chamber ensembles and orchestras in Gilbert Public Schools and currently mentors undergraduate violin students at all levels through private instruction and ensemble direction at BJU.
Professionally, he performs regularly with the Ironside Duo (with collaborative pianist Dr. Kristen Ironside) and the Hendiatris Trio. His orchestral credits include the Greenville Symphony, Asheville Symphony, Charleston Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, and Greensboro Opera Company.
