Jędrzej Kacprzyk

Jędrzej Kacprzyk is a double bassist and faculty member at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Poland. He teaches in the Department of Instrumental Music (Faculty II) and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree under Prof. Leszek Sokołowski. His educational background includes studies at the State Music School in Włocławek (2008–2013) and undergraduate studies at Gdańsk Academy of Music (2013–2017), graduating with distinction. In 2015/16, he furthered his training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under Alois Posch.

As a performer, Kacprzyk has appeared as a soloist with ensembles such as the Polish Chamber Philharmonic, Zabrze Philharmonic, and Gdynia Symphony Orchestra. He has premiered works including Piotr Jędrzejczyk’s Duet for Double Bass and Piano and Szczepan Magier’s Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra. His artistic focus centers on expanding the double bass repertoire through solo and chamber collaborations.

Award-winning musician, he has received recognition in prestigious competitions such as the Michał Spisak International Music Competition and Adam Bronisław Ciechański National Double Bass Competition. His teaching and performance activities are complemented by ongoing doctoral research in Gdańsk.
