Jan Georg Leser

Univ.-Prof. Jan Georg Leser is a double bass professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna, where he has taught since 2012. He is also a member of the Vienna Philharmonic and principal double bassist in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra since 2006.

• Studied with Prof. FM Grabner (Berlin) and Prof. Christoph Schmidt (Mannheim)
• Graduated with distinction from Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts
• Postgraduate training under Prof. Alois Posch at University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

His expertise includes orchestral literature, audition training, and chamber music. He has performed with major orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and Munich Philharmonic, and previously served as assistant to Prof. Alois Posch and lecturer for the German String Philharmonic.
