Eberswalde University for Sustainable Developmentمعرفی
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Peters is a Professor of Landscape Planning and Regional Development at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), where he currently serves as Dean of the Department of Landscape Use and Nature Conservation. His academic career at HNEE spans over two decades, with previous leadership roles including program director for the Master's program in Sustainable Regional Development and membership in key university committees such as the Senate.
Prof. Peters' research focuses on cultural landscape development, with particular emphasis on alley conservation as cultural landscape elements, renewable energy integration in rural areas, garden culture and landscape aesthetics, and participatory planning methods. His work bridges theoretical landscape planning with practical applications in village development and sustainable regional management. He has led significant research projects including the 2019-2022 DBU-funded project "Alleys as protectable landscape elements" which pioneered digital geospatial mapping of Germany's alley networks.
His recent publication trends reveal a strong focus on urban-nature relationships, particularly through the development of guidelines for urban nature experience spaces, and the intersection of rural architecture, cultural heritage, and tourism development. Prof. Peters has contributed extensively to both academic literature and practical policy guidance, with his work frequently addressing the tension between environmental conservation and development needs.
