Jürgen Christ

Prof. Jürgen Christ is a Professor of Media Management and Head of the Institute for Music Journalism | Radio – TV – Internet at the Karlsruhe University of Music. He holds administrative roles including former Vice-Rector and head of the State Center for Music Journalism and Music Informatics. His career spans over three decades in media production, cultural management, and academia.

• Professional roles: Music editor at Südwestfunk, program director at UFA Klassik Radio, and media manager for institutions like Daniel Barenboim’s Berlin State Opera.
• Teaching: Guest lectures at universities including UIC Barcelona and Hamburg’s Music & Theatre Academy.

Research focuses on music journalism, media technology, and cultural production. Creative work includes composing film and piano music, and he serves on advisory boards like the Pop Academy Baden-Württemberg.
