Jörgen Hettne is a Professor and Head of Department at Lund University, where he also serves as Director of the Centre for European Studies. He teaches EU Law and Competition Law, leading the Master's program in European and International Trade and Tax Law (MEITT) and contributing to the European Affairs program in the Department of Political Science.
- Research Focus: EU constitutional law, internal market regulations, competition policy, state monopolies, public procurement, and state aid law.
- Teaching Roles: Director of MEITT, courses in EU Market and Competition Law, and EU Law for European Affairs.
- Societal Impact: Appointed by the Swedish government to lead inquiries on EU-Sweden legal relations (2009-2014), including state aid and public procurement. Collaborated with the Swedish National Audit Office and Parliament on EU legal frameworks.
- Projects: Co-Investigator in "Social and Green Clauses in EU Public Procurement Law" (2016-2017); supervised PhD thesis on damages in public procurement (2013-2018).
