Jörg Fink

Prof. Jörg Fink is a leading researcher at the Leibniz-Institute for Solid and Material Research Dresden (IFW Dresden). His work focuses on the electronic structure of novel materials, particularly carbon-based systems, superconductors, and topological materials. He has contributed extensively to understanding conducting polymers, fullerenes, nanotubes, graphene, and iron-based superconductors.

His research spans angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), electron energy-loss spectroscopy, and resonant x-ray scattering, with key insights into charge excitations, spin dynamics, and correlation effects in quantum materials. Recent projects include studies of plasmons in Sr2RuO4 and spin-split Fermi arcs in PtGa.

Prof. Fink has held editorial roles for journals such as Reports on Progress in Physics, Advances in Condensed Matter Physics, and Europhysics Letters. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and Chartered Physicist of the Institute of Physics, UK.
