Jérôme Gros is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology at Institut Pasteur in Paris, France. His academic journey began with a PhD in Developmental Biology from University of Marseille-Luminy (2006), followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School's Department of Genetics under Cliff Tabin (2006-2012). He leads multiple research projects including
- ERC-funded LimbCellDynamics
- HFSP project on limb formation
- Evo-Devo studies on morphogenetic variation
- LabEx Revive in regenerative biology
His research focuses on the interplay between mechanical forces and biochemical signaling during embryonic development. Key areas include:
- Gastrulation mechanics
- Limb bud formation
- Neural tube morphogenesis
- External genitalia evolution
- 3D tissue mechanics
- Developmental imaging methodologies
The work reveals how cell division forces and mechanical feedback control tissue patterning, with implications for congenital malformations and regenerative medicine. His publications demonstrate expertise in Avian model systems, Mechanobiology, and Computational morphometrics.
