Dr. Jérôme GUICHEUX is a Full Professor and Director of the INSERM UMR 1229-RMeS (Regenerative Medicine and Skeleton) research center at Nantes University, France. He also serves as Scientific Director of the SC3M core facility (Electron Microscopy, Microcharacterization, and Functional Morphohistology) within the François Bonamy Health Federative Research Institute. He holds leadership roles in the French National Research Agency (ANR) evaluation panels for 'Translational Research in Health' and 'Regenerative Medicine,' and coordinates the French INSERM Osteoarthritis Network (netwOArk).
Education: PhD in Cell Biology and Health Sciences (1997, Nantes University School of Dental Medicine), followed by postdoctoral research at the University Medical Center of Geneva (1997–2001). Tenured since 2001 at INSERM, he was promoted to Research Director (DR2/Full Professor, 2008) and Senior Research Director (DR1/Full Professor, 2019).
Research focuses on osteoarthritis and disc degeneration pathophysiology, leveraging stem cells, biomaterials, and hydrogels for regenerative therapies. He has authored over 215 publications (H-index 56/ISI, 66/Google Scholar), holds 9 patents, and secured >100 research contracts, coordinating 5 ANR programs and multiple EU grants (FP7, H2020).
