Dr. Justyna Kowal, M.A., is a research assistant at the Department of Cultural Theory and Performing Arts within the Institute of Polish Philology, University of Wrocław. A graduate of Polish Philology and Anthropology of Theatre and Film Literature, she is currently pursuing her doctoral dissertation on memory and historical representation in contemporary Polish theatre.

Her research focuses on:
- Hypermediality in Theatre: Analyzing multimedia intersections in performance
- Theatrical Representation: Epistemological challenges in staging history
- Memory Theories: Application of cultural and post-Holocaust memory frameworks
- Jewish Cultural Studies: Interdisciplinary approaches to Jewish-Polish theatre heritage

- Contemporary cultural memory manifestations
Active member of the 20th Century Literary Culture Workshop and organizer of academic events on popular culture and children's literature, she maintains professional affiliations with institutions including the Polish Section of IBBY.
