Justin Ward

Justin Ward is a Professor of Computer Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with teaching experience spanning from Fall 2017 to the present. His academic and professional work bridges digital communication, photography, and transmedia art, with a focus on themes like drones, climate, equity, and accessibility in contemporary photography.

Ward’s research explores the intersection of technology, art, and society, particularly through aerial photography and digital media. His publications and lectures address collaborative processes in photography, environmental impact, and the balance between ubiquity and artistic sublimity.

He has received recognition such as the SPE Southeast Region Student and Adjunct Instructor Award and the Google Earth Pro Educational Grant. His artwork is featured in institutional collections including the Georgian Terrace Hotel and Georgia Power.

Ward’s exhibitions include solo and group shows internationally, such as Unmanned Landscapes at Alexander Hall Gallery (2016) and Eye in the Sky at Atlanta’s Aviation Cultural Center (2017). His work has been juried into prestigious events like the Texas Photographic Society’s online exhibition (2017).
