Justin Tondt

Dr. Justin Tondt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Department of Public Health Sciences at Pennsylvania State University. He holds dual roles in clinical practice, research, and education. His primary clinical focus includes primary care and obesity medicine, with involvement in Penn State’s fatty liver clinic. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and Family Medicine, and actively contributes to national organizations like the Obesity Medicine Association.

Dr. Tondt’s research centers on obesity, insulin resistance, and dietary interventions, with recent projects exploring visceral adiposity and fatty liver disease. He has co-authored clinical practice guidelines and serves as Chair of the Obesity Algorithm Workgroup (2022-2023) and Associate Editor for Obesity Pillars. He is pursuing advanced statistical training to enhance his methodological expertise.

His educational roles include mentoring residents and students in obesity research, and delivering national lectures via the Obesity Medicine Association’s Fundamentals of Obesity course. He received the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award (2021) and Junior Faculty Development Program distinction (2023).
