معرفی
Justin S. Mankin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Dartmouth College, with an adjunct research affiliation at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. His research focuses on climate variability and change, emphasizing risks to ecosystems and societies through attribution studies, drought analysis, and Earth system modeling.
Education
- Ph.D. in Earth System Science, Stanford University
- M.P.A. in Environmental Policy, Columbia University
- M.Sc. in Climate Science, London School of Economics
- B.A. in Environmental Science, Columbia University
His work spans hydroclimatic variability, model diagnosis, human and ecosystem impacts, and adaptation decision-making. Key areas include drought drivers, snowpack decline, carbon feedbacks, and socioeconomic consequences of climate shifts. Notably, his recent articles explore nonlinear climate feedbacks, attribution of extreme events, and adaptation strategies amid compound climate risks.
Professor Mankin leads the Dartmouth Climate Modeling & Impacts Group (CMIG), where he mentors graduate and undergraduate researchers. He also serves as an editor for Earth's Future and an associate editor for the Journal of Climate, contributing to scientific discourse through policy engagement and public science communication.
