Robert Pincus is the Lamont Research Professor at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) within Columbia University's Columbia Climate School, and holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics at Columbia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. His work focuses on understanding climate change through historical records, radiative forcing, and cloud-radiation interactions. He is deeply involved in advancing climate models, particularly in radiation parameterization and computational efficiency. Pincus also leverages remote sensing data to improve climate projections.

Research Interests: Pincus explores how atmospheric composition influences Earth's energy balance, with emphasis on clouds, radiation, and circulation. Recent efforts address stratospheric aerosol impacts and tropical cloud dynamics.
