Dr. Justin Russell is an Associate Professor (Teaching Focused) at the School of Engineering, University of Warwick. He leads the Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Programme and holds roles as Module Leader for ES2F4 Structural Analysis and ES2F2 Construction Materials. His research focuses on structural engineering challenges such as progressive collapse of reinforced concrete, flat slab construction, and dynamics of lightweight bridges, with expertise in FRP composites and human-induced vibration.
Education: MEng in Civil Engineering (2010), PhD in Civil Engineering (2015), both from the University of Nottingham.
Research interests include robustness in structural design, vibration serviceability, and innovative materials like FRP composites. Teaching emphasizes civil and structural engineering topics, including analysis, sustainability, and dynamics for undergraduates and degree apprentices.
He collaborates with the Civil and Environmental Engineering Group and Structural Engineering Group at Warwick, and oversees projects related to FRP bridges and structural dynamics. Contact him via email for appointments at School of Engineering, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL.
