Justin Roberts is a Professor of Nutritional Physiology at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), based in the Cambridge Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences. He holds a concurrent role as Senior Team Lead for Muscle, Performance, and Recovery at Danone Global Research and Innovation Center. His research focuses on nutritional strategies to enhance metabolic responses and recovery from exercise, including work on polyphenols, probiotics, and gastrointestinal health. Roberts has held academic roles since 2014 and has extensive industry collaborations, including with sports teams like Manchester City FC. He teaches modules in performance nutrition and has supervised over 30 PhD and MSc students.

Research Interests: Roberts explores phytonutrient impacts on fat oxidation, probiotic effects on gut-muscle interactions, and nutritional interventions for exercise recovery. His work spans clinical applications (e.g., haemodialysis patients) to elite athletic performance.
