Justin Michael Parks

Justin Michael Parks is an Associate Professor in American literature and cultural studies at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, where he serves as Academic Programme Director for English Literature (BA, MA, and Teacher Education). His research investigates modern and contemporary poetry and poetics, American studies, Marxist theory, media studies, and environmental/energy humanities.

He guest-edited a special issue of Textual Practice on literature and extractivism and is currently Executive Editor of American Studies in Scandinavia. His 2023 monograph Poetry and the Limits of Modernity in Depression America won the 2024 European American Studies Network Book Prize.
