Justin Hughes

Justin Hughes is the Hon. William Matthew Byrne Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at Loyola Marymount University, teaching courses in intellectual property and international trade. Previously, he served as Senior Advisor to the Undersecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property in the Obama Administration (2009-2013), where he led US negotiations for the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances (2012) and Marrakesh Treaty for the Blind (2013).

His legal scholarship focuses on international intellectual property frameworks and trade policy, particularly multilateral treaty development in copyright and accessibility rights.
